Do I have to change my phone number?
No. You keep your number. We just turn on call forwarding, so calls you don't answer go to your receptionist. You can turn it off any time with a code from your phone.
Is this meant to replace my office staff?
No. It's for the calls nobody can get to: after hours, weekends, and when everyone's busy. It's a lot better than voicemail.
Will my customers know it's not a person?
It introduces itself as your virtual receptionist and tells callers the call is recorded, as Maryland law requires. If someone asks, it tells them plainly that it's an AI. Most callers just want to get their problem handled.
What if a caller has an emergency?
If they say it's an emergency, it offers to connect them to your cell right away. For gas smells or smoke, it tells them to get out and call 911 first.
